  • MacKenzie Co LLC originally began as MacKenzie Chemical Works Inc. was founded by Ian MacKenzie. Putting his entrepreneurial spirit together with his chemical engineering experience, he began building a company that would produce useful chemicals for unique markets. His patented fuel oil combustion catalyst, "PYROCAT", used many of the metal acetylacetonates we still manufacture today. This facility was built in 1977.

    The company turned more to the synthesis of chemical compounds rather than blending formulations. This involved investment in costly manufacturing systems and research by a growing technical staff.

    In the 70's and 80's specialized products were developed for the imaging industry. The company expanded rapidly in people, equipment and sales.
